Pitman High School Choral Program offers four choral ensembles to serve all students at various steps in the journey of singing.

Madrigals is a year-long course open to advanced singers by audition. Students are expected to be the top musicians at Pitman High School while continuing to develop advanced vocal and musicianship skills. Students study and perform advanced literature for mixed ensembles. They perform at all school concerts, as well as several festivals, community and school events throughout the year.

Madrigals

Concert Choir is a year-long course open to any beginning singers. This course focuses on basic vocal techniques, music theory, sight reading and SAB choral literature for the beginning choral ensemble. Concert Choir performs at all school concerts throughout the academic year.

Concert Choir
Bella Voce

Bella Voce is a year-long course, via Pride Time, open to advanced singers with treble voice by audition. This course focuses on SSAA literature from all periods of music history. Students develop advanced vocal and musicianship skills. They perform at all school concerts, as well as a few festivals throughout the year.

Apollo Chorus is a year-long course, via Pride Time, open to male voices by audition. This course focuses on basic vocal techniques, music theory, sight reading, and TBB choral literature for the beginning/intermediate men’s ensemble. Apollo Chorus performs at all concerts throughout the year.

Apollo Chorus

Mr. Partan has been developing the choral programs at Pitman High School and Turlock Junior High School since 2016. He received the Master of Music degree from the University of Southern California, and the Bachelor of Music degree from California State University, Stanislaus. Since 2012, Mr. Partan has been teaching at private & public schools, after-school music programs, and community choirs.

Mr. Yohan Partan
Mrs. Beverly Vanderlinden

Mrs. Vanderlinden has been teaching classroom music and choir in the Turlock Unified School District since 2007, serving Osborn Elementary, Cunningham Elementary, Medeiros Elementary, and Walnut Elementary schools. She also serves as the accompanist for all Pitman High School choral ensembles and Turlock Junior High School Concert Choir.
